agree but if the maker dose not understand what type of doll blank he getting how can he make it what he hopes for?
It is like you would not buy yellow cake mix to make a white cake
same with a doll blank you need it have the basics of what you want already in it before you start to mold the doll in my opinion

It would depend how well I knew the toymaker. Trust is all.

good point on the trust issue
It is needed
but I still want to here desires of the doll and not mold them unless there is enough common ground that way they will make a better doll and the mind will form better in my opion

As location is all things to real estate, trust is definitely all things to dollmaking. It would be foolish to toss oneself to a new owner without having any founded level of trust. That said, a very trustworthy owner could pretty much have full reign in my opinion. :)

I don't think I would.

I doubt many people would. Potentially dangerous, if you ask me.

Almost anything is potentially dangerous if one abdicates personal responsibility.

Personally, the dollification process is one of collaboration, based on mutual understanding, combined creativity, and shared vision. I don't want a blank canvas, but a feedback loop of communication and development.

Having said that, I can certainly envisage a situation where a depth of connection has evolved in which a doll would be comfortable allowing all decisions to be deferred to the dollmaker, in the knowledge that whatever decisions were made would be appropriate. This is akin to a M/s dynamic, and works very well for many people.

I would. In fact I might even prefer it that way. My biggest concern would be if he could really do it or not or if I'm being lured in by someone who is more interested in a quickie.

Well, yes, isn't that the point? What is life but the desire to have pleasure? As I doll, I would be free to do that, not have to work about things like deadlines and bills and drama. Just, be a toy, be there for play! That would totally be THE life!

I think the idea of just being someone's blank slate and not knowing what I shall become is a very exciting thought, however in reality I doubt I could be brought to it. But I suppose it depends on if this would be a permanent thing or not. If it is permanent then I'd need to know what was being done, however if it was for at most a couple months then I'm ok with allowing this person to do what they wish with me. This is all under the assumption it is someone I know and trust ofcourse.

Indeed it would, I'd certainly prefer to have limits on any blank dolls as to time limits and any other agreed upon limits. And trust is an important thing to have in any situation, but especially in dollification related matters.
