Recently, I've been thinking alot about the idea of sharing a doll, initially between Ourselves, and the problems that can cause, but also, certain past events where a doll has been leant out.
There's a final element to this, which is..WHat would you do if you were expected to share your role of doll with a newcomer, or were to find the dollshelf already occupied?

Yes, the thorny dollification and polygamy question..
Have fun, and don't break anything

Well, in my case, my Marlene is my favorite toy. The dolly you've had since before you can remember, the one that you can't live without, the one that you drag around everywhere. He is, my security blanket, he is my wubby, he is my partner, my lover, my doll, and my doll maker, and I can't fathom the need for anything more than the other half of my soul, in the realm of partners.

For me, being a beloved and cherished dolly is essential. Like in the Velveteen Rabbit, love makes you real; and I want to be made real. I want to be the treasured one, the one always taken care of most. I am like The Rose in The Little Prince. I am only precious because I am loved. Roses are common... but I am my owner's rose, and that is what makes me special.

I wouldn't mind sharing, so long as my value wasn't diminished. Likewise, my Owner doesn't mind if I play with others, because it is always known what toybox I belong to and come back to.

Dolls are toys and toys should be shared,
I used to lean out my toys as a kid,
and as I doll I would want to be lent out :3

Well, this topic does pose some interesting points, and as Rubber Witch did elude to, such a discussion topic is a very subjective thing.

Personally, in a few short weeks I will be entering a poly household where another, more service oriented slave, resides as well I know and fully understand that MZ DONNNA will have other partners in carious facets of play, but I am assured by the fact that I am to be Her masterpiece and the first living doll in her already vast doll collection.

I think that a doll should not worry about that.
She is the property of their owner, and may be left when the owner wants.
And the owner does not need to give explanations if he choose to play with other dolls

I couldn't have put it better myself.
A Doll is, after all, simply a toy.
If his or her Owner decides that they want a new doll, either to replace their existing doll or they just simply want to add another doll to the collection it shouldn't effect the existing doll.
He or She should do as they are told and not question their owners motives.

 :D

I enjoy the idea of being an object, so being just one doll in a set actually sounds quite exciting. One of my specific fantasies is to be an 'alpha minion', used by my owner to carry out dominant acts over other dolls/slaves/etc.
Doll siblinghood is also an appealing idea, maybe we'd help each other dress and make-up, be posed together and so on.
